McGee Air Services to Launch Service in Seattle
McGee will hire nearly 900 workers to provide ground handling for Alaska Airlines at Sea-Tac International Airport
SEATTLE -- March 1, 2017 -- McGee Air Services Inc. today announced a new agreement to provide ground handling services for Alaska Airlines at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac). This will represent the fourth location for McGee following the commencement of services in Phoenix, Ariz., Portland, Ore. and San Jose, Calif. in 2016.
McGee plans to start operations at Sea-Tac on May 2, 2017.
“We are proud to be selected as the ground handler for Alaska Airlines in their largest hub and hometown,” said Dean DuVall, President of McGee Air Services. “This is a tremendous growth opportunity for McGee, with nearly 900 airport jobs at Sea-Tac. We look forward to continuing to demonstrate our commitment to delivering exceptional service in an environment where people are valued and recognized.”
McGee is a dedicated aviation services company with a singular focus on delivering best-in-class aviation services. The company’s 330 employees provide ramp handling and fleet services for Alaska Airlines at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Portland International Airport and Mineta San Jose International Airport. With more than 100 years of collective industry experience, McGee’s seasoned leadership team provides expertise in the aviation business ranging from ground operations, safety and regulatory compliance to quality assurance, process improvement and finance.
“This strategic business decision is largely due to McGee’s unique ability to combine deep industry experience with a focus on providing best-in-class airline services,” said Cees Verkerk, Alaska Airlines’ managing director of station operations support and service administration. “McGee’s metrics in Portland, Phoenix and San Jose have been outstanding and demonstrate that their commitment to safety, quality and productivity mirrors that of our own.”
McGee employees are represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and receive competitive wages, airline travel privileges, health care benefits and the opportunity to earn a monthly performance incentive. McGee is encouraging employees from the current provider servicing Alaska Airlines at Sea-Tac to apply for positions with McGee. Other interested candidates are welcome to apply here.
